For Meeting of: July 16, 2024 ITEM TITLE: Resolution approving and adopting the City of Yakima Strategic Priorities for 2024-2025 SUBMITTED BY: Dave Zabel!, Interim City Manager SUMMARY EXPLANATION: This Resolution adopts the Strategic Priorities established at the Council's retreat on June 14-15, 2024, and further discussed at the study session on July 9, 2024. Attached for Council acceptance is the City's final Strategic Plan report prepared by Zach Ratkai. This report represents a considerable amount of work over two days in the month of June. Prior to the workshop, Zach interviewed all Council members and several key staff members to obtain feedback on what's working well and what areas need improvement. Identifying the Council's strategic priorities is essential to the City's progress and sets a tone and establishes a vision for going forward. Additionally, the plan communicates to the public, staff and investors those things the Council sees as the greatest priorities. A solid plan serves as the filter by which major policy issues are developed and evaluated by the Council. Council reviewed these strategies at their July 9 meeting.
