HomeMy WebLinkAboutLTAC Minutes 20200305Lodging Tax Advisory Committee Thursday, March 5, 2020, 9:00 am Convention Center, Room B Meeting Minutes Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 9:07 am by John Cooper. Roll Call Members Present: Charlie Robin, Angie Girard, Lisa Vallejo, John Cooper, Juliana Marroquin, Sarah Davila, Sara Allen, and Anne Moneymaker Members Absent: Jason White Staff Present: Alex Meyerhoff, Steve Groom, Brenda Fehlhafer, Connie Upton Roll Call and introduction of new members There was roll call with quorum present. New committee member Juliana Marroquin and Interim City of Yakima Manager Alex Meyerhoff were welcomed. Minutes of Previous Meeting Motion: Robin moved and Girard seconded to approve the meeting minutes from August 15, 2019. The motion carried by unanimous vote. Staff Report Steve Groom, City of Yakima Finance Director, provided an update on Lodging Tax Revenue and the Convention Center Financing. Graphs were attached in the packets provided at the meeting. The members discussed current effects of Covid-19 and the economic impact it was having throughout the state on conferences, events, and tourism. Continued Business The committee reviewed the 2021 Grant Application. The application deadline will be June 1, 2020. 2020 Meeting schedule It was decided to tentatively schedule the next meeting for June 9, 2020. New Business Marroquin noted the Holiday Inn has been working on some updates. Robin noted the Capitol Theatre is hosting “Mr Capitol” on March 22 and the “Jersey Boys” on March 30-31. Girard needed to leave the meeting. Moneymaker noted the Sundome had hired Kathy Kramer as their new CEO. Meyerhoff thanked the committee members for all their hard work. Good of the Order Motion: Robin moved and Allen seconded to adjourn. The motion carried by unanimous vote. Meeting adjourned at 10:06 am.
