Draft Meeting Minutes
Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 9:05 am by Patricia Byers.
Roll Call
Members Present: Patricia Byers, John Cooper, Charlie Robin, Anne Moneymaker, Angie Girard, Sarah Davila and Kristie Holstine
City Staff Present: Jennifer Ferrer-Santa Ines, Andrea Flores and Jennifer Tippett Others Present: Connie Upton and Kathy Kramer
Approve minutes of previous meeting
Motion: John Cooper moved and Sarah Davila seconded to approve the previous meeting minutes. The motion carried by unanimous vote.
Staff Report
Jennifer Ferrer-Santa Ines informed the committee that the 2023 LTAC recommended grant amounts were present to City Council at the meeting on 9/6/2022. Council gave no comments on the
recipients or the amounts to be disbursed.
Continued Business
Jennifer Ferrer-Santa Ines, Director of Finance and Budget for the City of Yakima, addressed the 2022 mid-year reports that were given to members along with a summary at the 8/25/22
LTAC meeting. The members decided by consensus that a brief one-page form with the approximate number of overnight stays, amount awarded and amount spent year to date would suffice
for the future reports. Receipts are not required to submit receipts, they can be requested if needed.
It was decided by consensus that during the years of 2024 & 2025, no new grantees will be awarded. This is in an effort to make the transition back to paying the pre-COVID amount of
$486,000 towards the Convention and Event Center debt.
New Business
The Central Washington State Fair has a new six-page flyer that was handed out to members.
Public Comment:
Kathy Kramer with the Central Washington State Fair reminded all that the fair runs September 23 – October 2. A lot of improvements have been made to the fair grounds as well as the
Sun Dome including restoration of the ”Circle of Light”.
Motion: Sarah Davila moved and Angie Girard seconded to adjourn @ 9:40 am.
