For Meeting of: March 19, 2024 ITEM TITLE: Recognition of retiring Judge Kelley Olwell SUBMITTED BY: Dave Zabel!, Interim City Manager SUMMARY EXPLANATION: After 34 years of public service, 18 with the City of Yakima, Judge Olwell will be retiring at the end of the month. Judge Olwell received her original oath of office in 1997 and was officially appointed municipal court judge in January 2006. Judge Olwell was raised in Yakima. She graduated from Carroll High School, Washington State University and University of Puget Sound Law School. Following her graduation from law school, she served as the Assistant City Attorney for the City of SeaTac, a prosecuting attorney for Yakima County, and Municipal Court Judge for the City of Yakima.
