• - Traffic Issues in
Yakima
Pi In 2020 and 2021 Yakima experienced
1 the highest number of traffic fatalities--ill.
in its recorded history.
voillitil
Captain Jay Seely developed a
proactive strategy to address these
issues. All officers (including himself)
were required to make four traffic
stops per day (NOT CITATIONS).
Captain Boyle (a member of the
Washington Traffic Safety
Commission) also secured funding for
a full-time DUI officer. A second
(funded by the city) was also added.
