Attached is a draft National Disability Awareness Month proclamation for Council consideration.
If approved, the proclamation will be read and presented at the October 3 City Council meeting.

wifmaiiS, October marks that 78th anniversary of National Disability
Employment Awareness Month; and
14?MEcE.4S, the purpose of National Disability Employment Awareness
Month is to educate about disability employment issues and celebrate the many and
varied contributions of America's workers with disabilities; and
14 EREAS, wort laces welcoming of the talents of all people, including
people with disabilities, are a critical part of our efforts to build an incfusive
community and strong economy; and
WI-PERMS, activities during this month will reinforce the vafue and talent
people with disabilities add to our workplaces and communities and affirm the City
of 'Yakima's commitment to an incfusive community that increases access and
opportunities to all, including individuals with disabilities.

on behalf of the Yakima City Council, do hereby proclaim the month of
October 2023 as
