HomeMy WebLinkAbout2023-035 Ordinance relating to the Transportation Benefit District (TBD); modifying the transportation improvements project list ORDINANCE NO. 2023-035 AN ORDINANCE relating to a Transportation Benefit District; modifying the transportation improvements to be funded by the district. WHEREAS, on January 10, 2017 the City Council created a Transportation Benefit District (TBD); and, WHEREAS, the City Council approved Ordinance No. 2017-002 and identified projects within the City that constituted transportation improvement needs; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has previously amended the TBD project list in Ordinance NO. 2017-011; and, WHEREAS, the City of Yakima wishes to modify the TBD project list; and, WHEREAS, a public hearing must be held prior to modifying the project list; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. The City Council finds it is in the public interest, following a public hearing and using the criteria listed in RCW 36.73.020(1), to modify the project list and adopts the Amended Transportation Benefit District Project List(Attached as Exhibit A) as the transportation improvements to be funded through the TBD. The amended list replaces all prior project lists. Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective and shall be in full force and effect 30 days after its passage and publication in accordance with law. The list was amended on March 21, 2017 and adopted by Ordinance 2017-011. The City desires to update the list with current cost estimates and add a new project at 3rd Street& Division Street.
