ITEM TITLE: Recognition of Karina Solorio, CivicSpark Fellow, Sustainable
Yakima Committee

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
After graduating from Central Washington University, Karina Solorio joined the City of Yakima
through the CivicSpark program. CivicSpark is an AmeriCorps program dedicated to building
capacity for local governments to address emerging environmental and social equity resilience
challenges. During her time with the City, Karina assisted the Sustainable Yakima Committee in
researching, analyzing, and presenting various issues to help create a one-year action plan.
Please help me congratulate Karina on completing her 7-month service term with the City.
