ITEM TITLE: Project Completion and Contract Acceptance for East General
Aviation Apron Rehabilitation Project

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
In 2020 the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Yakima Air Terminal-McAllister Field
identified the need to rehabilitate approximately 30,000 square yards of asphalt pavement,
associated drainage, aircraft tie-downs, pavement markings and apron lighting in order to increase
safety measures and continue to meet Federal Aviation Administration safety standards for
commercial, corporate, and General Aviation aircraft that operate at the Yakima Air Terminal-
McAllister Field. Final inspection for this project (Contract #2021-101) was made and the
recommendation is that the project be accepted.
Contractor: Central Washington Asphalt Inc
Contract Cost: $ 1 ,926,973.72
Total Due: $ 0
Total contract cost for the East General Aviation Apron Rehabilitation Project does not include
engineering and other associated costs. City Council action is required to accept the project and
approve the final construction costs.

Dear Tyson,
The work on the above referenced project has been determined to be Substantially Complete as of Friday July
22, 2022.As of this date, Central Washington Asphalt, Inc. (CWA) has used all fifty six (56) of the working days
made available per the contract documents.
This notice does not relieve CWA of any responsibilities or guarantees stated within the original contract.
The attached punch list items were identified during a site walk through on July 26, 2022 and will need to be
completed prior to final acceptance of the project.The punch list items may not be all-inclusive, and the failure
to include an item in it does not alter the responsibility of the Contractor to complete all the work in accordance
with the Contract Documents. You will be notified if any additional documentation or contract requirements
are identified which require completion before acceptance.
Unless otherwise specified in the attached punch list,all remaining items shall be completed within 10 working
days (by August 16, 2022). In the event that the remaining items are not completed by August 16, 2022, the
Owner reserves the right to restart the charging of working days.
