AUGUST 15, 1966
The City Council met in regular session, Mayor Larson presiding, Councilmen Brazier, Kur-
bitz, Lambert, Lynch and Robinson, and City Manager Smith present on roll call. Councilman
Brown absent on roll call. City Attorney Andrews on vacation. It was•MOVED by Robinson,
seconded by Lynch that Councilman Brown.be excused from this meeting: carried, Brazier,
Kurbitz, Lambert, Larson, Lynch and. Robinson voting aye by voice vote.
The Invocation was given by Councilman Lynch. .

The minutes of the regular meeting of August $, 1966, having been duly certified accurate •
by two Councilmen and no one present wishing to have said minutes read publicly, Mayor
Larson declared said minutes approved as recorded.
This being the time fixed for the continuation of the Hearing on Petition No. 427, as filed
by Marguerite and Will J. Hackett, requesting vacation of a portion of Hamm Avenue, and.
City Manager Smith reporting that said petitioners have requested a continuation of this
matter, it was MOVED by Brazier, seconded by Lynch that said Hearing be continued to Sept-
ember 26, 1966: carried, Brazier, Kurbitz, Lambert, Larson, Lynch and Robinson voting aye
by voice vote. Brown absent.. (See Minutes - January 10, 1966 & March 21, 1966;- Hearing
This being the time fixed for the continuation of the Hearing on Petition No. 456, as filed
• by Ruby W. Harrison, requesting rezone of property situated at 24th and W. Washington Ave-
nues, and City Manager Smith 'reporting that there is still some work to be done on this
matter, it was MOVED by Brazier, seconded by Lynch that.said Hearing be continued to Sept- ••
ember 19, 1966: carried, Brazier, Kurbitz,_ Lambert, Larson, Lynch and Robinson voting aye
by voice vote. Brown absent. (See Minutes - Hearing, !April 25, 1966)
Petition No. 482, having been filed with the City Clerk on August 10, 1966, by Albertson's.;
Inc., requesting vacation'of the alley between 5th and 6th .Avenues from "B" Street to the
North line of Lots 5 & 12, it was MOVED by Brazier, seconded by Lambert that. said Petition
be referred to the City Manager and .Planning Commission for study and recommendation:
carried, Brazier, Kurbitz, Lambert, Larson, Lynch and Robinson voting aye by voice vote.

MOVED by Brazier, seconded by Robinson that Ordinance No. $24 fixing the time,of delinquenc:
and providing for the issuance of bonds for the payment of the unpaid portion of L.I.D. No. •
944, High View Courts and Various Others Domestic Water District, be passed as read: carrie ,
Brazier, Kurbitz, Lambert, Larson, Lynch.and Robinson voting aye on roll call. Brown ab-
sent. (4o bond issue)
ORDINANCE NO. $24, AN ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of installments of assess-
ments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement District
No. 9!4, and providing for the issuance of bonds with coupons attached for the payment of
the unpaid portion thereof.
MOVED by Lynch, seconded by Brazier that Resolution No. D -990 urging the City Council's
support of the Metropolitan Park District in its request for a special levy,which is to be
. submitted to electors September 20, 1966, be passed as read: carried, Brazier, Kurbitz,
Lambert, Larson, Lynch and Robinson voting aye on roll call. Broom absent.
RESOLUTION NO. D -990, A RESOLUTION supporting the Metropolitan Park District of Yakima in
its request for a special levy.
MOVED by Lynch, seconded by Lambert that Resolution No. D -991, being a Resolution of Inten-
tion to improve property by the construction of water mains and create a local improvement
district in accordance with the replats of Horizon Heights No. 2 and Edgecliff Manor No. 2,
and fixing the date of hearing for September 6, 1966, be passed as read: carried, Brazier,
Kurbitz, Lambert, Larson, Lynch and Robinson voting aye on roll call. Brown absent. (See
minutes of replat hearings on May 16 and 31, 1966 - Remie N..Jaussard for D. A. Fellows and

RESOLUTION NO. D -991, A RESOLUTION of intention to create a local improvement district.
MOVED by Brazier, seconded by Lynch that Resolution No. D -992, being a Resolution of Inten-
tion to improve property by the construction of a pipe sewer and create a local improvement
district in accordance with the replats of Horizon Heights No. 2 and Edgecliff Manor No. 2,
and fixing the date of hearing for September 6, 1966, be passed as read: carried, Brazier,
Kurbitz, Lambert, Larson, Lynch and Robinson voting aye on roll call. Brown absent. (See
minutes of replat hearings on May 16 and 31, 1966 - same as above.) .

RESOLUTION NO. D -993, A RESOLUTION of intention to.create a local improvement'district.
A damage claim having been filed by P. Brice Horton, Attorney, for Harold William.Fleming, •
it was MOVED by Lynch, seconded by Brazier that said damage claim be referred to the City .
Manager and Staff for study and recommendation: carried, Brazier, Kurbitz, Lambert, Larson,
Lynch and Robinson voting aye by voice vote. Broom absent. •
Councilman Brazier asking to be excused from the next meeting on August 22, 1966, it was
MOVED by Lynch, seconded by Lambert that he be excused from said meeting: carried, Kurbitz,
Lambert, Larson, Lynch and Robinson voting ,aye by voice vote. Brown absent. •

ded by Lynch that we do now adjourn at the hour of $:25 P.M.: carried, Brazier, Kurbitz,
