R-94- 152 A RESOLUTION awarding contract for the construction of the Yakima Police Station/Legal Center to Cree Construction Company, Inc of Lynnwood, Washington in accordance with the construction specifications, and addendums thereto, for Police Station/Legal Center, City of Yakima, Yakima, Washington, dated October 1994 WHEREAS, on November 16, 1993, the City Council decided that the Yakima Police Station/Legal Center should be constructed on the Wikstrom Block bordered by Walnut Street, South Third Street, Spruce Street, and South Second Street; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the Invitation for Bids dated September 29, 1994, and addendums thereto, 10 sealed bids were duly received and opened on November 1, 1994, and WHEREAS, all bids have been carefully reviewed for responsiveness; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that the bid submitted by Cree Construction Company, Inc of Lynnwood, Washington was responsive and is the lowest responsible bid, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Yakima finds and determines that the construction contract for the Yakima Police Station/Legal Center should be awarded to Cree Construction Company, Inc. in the best interests of the citizens of the City of Yakima, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA. The City of Yakima hereby awards the Yakima Police Station/Legal Center construction contract to Cree Construction Company, Inc with a total base bid of $6,988,000 together with Add Alternates No. 1, 3, and 5 in the respective amounts of $434,400, $8,000, and $13,000, together with Washington State sales tax in the amount of $588,028 60 for a total stipulated sum contract amount of $8,031,428.60. The contract is awarded to Cree Construction Company, Inc as set forth herein and in accordance with all the terms, standards, and specifications set forth in the construction specifications for Police Station/Legal Center, City of Yakima, Yakima, Washington dated October 1994, and addendums thereto. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute an American Institute of Architects Standard Form of Agreement Between Owner and Contractor (Document A101) for the total contract sum of $8,031,428 60 (including Washington State sales tax) with general conditions, supplementary conditions, and exhibits thereto, subject to review and approval as to Page 1 (is)res/cree construction.rp form by the City Attorney The City Manager is further authorized to take all necessary and prudent actions to complete the Police Station/Legal Center Project in accordance with the Capital Budget Status Program attached hereto, including, but not limited to, processing change orders and an interfund loan from the Equipment Rental Fund to the Law and Justice Capital Fund within the limitations of existing budget authority All other bids submitted in response to the invitation for bids are hereby rejected.
