A RESOLUTION authorizing the City of Yakima Transit Division to issue
promotional fare bus passes to 130 Japanese exchange students
to be valid during a two week period of time while these
students visit the City of Yakima.
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima will be receiving 130 Japanese exchange
students for a two week period of time in April 1993; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the City would significantly benefit
from allowing these Japanese exchange students to use the City's transit system at
no cost during their two week stay in the City of Yakima; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it to be in the best interest of the City of
Yakima to issue 130 promotional fare bus passes to these Japanese exchange
students for the purpose of encouraging tourism in the City of Yakima pursuant to
RCW 35.21.700, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
The City of Yakima Transit Division is hereby authorized and directed to
issue 130 free (promotional fare) bus passes for use by Japanese exchange
students on the City's transit system during a two week period.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 13thday of April , 1993.
