`WJPEcREJ4S, the members of the Caw enforcement agency of(Yakima play an
essentialrole in safeguarding the rights andfreedoms of our area; and
` &fEcREfS, it is important that all-community members know and understand
the duties, responsibilities, hazards, and sacrifices of their Caw enforcement agency, and
that members of our law enforcement agency recognize their duty to serve the people by
safeguarding life and property, by protecting them against violence and disorder,, and by
protecting the innocent against deception and the weak against oppression; and
`4'&I?E f7S, the men and women of the Caw enforcement agency of(Yakima
unceasingly provide a vitalpublic service; and
WJPEREAS, Witty 15-21, 2022 has been named'NationallPolice Week,
WOW, TWERETOICE, I, Janice lDeccio, SYLayor of the City of(Yakima and on
behalf of the City Council, do hereby proclaim Witty 15, 2022 as

in honor of those Caw enforcement officers who, through their courageous deed, have made
the ultimate sacrifice in service to their community or have become disabled in the
performance of duty, andCet us recognize and pay respect to the survivors of ourfallen
heroes. Further, I call-upon all-community members to observe the weekof Witty 15-21,
2022 as Police `Week in which all- of our people may join in commemorating Caw
enforcement officers,past and present, who by theirfaithful and Coyaldevotion to their
responsibilities have rendered service to their communities and, in so doing, have
establiishedfor themselves an enviable and enduring reputation for preserving the rights
and security of aft community members.
