B -2116 AN ORDINANCE adding Section 301(a)(3) and amending Section 305(a) all in Ordinance No. B- 85O, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE to be known as the Electrical Code of the City of Yakima for safeguarding life and property by regulating the install- ation; alteration, repair, use and operation of electric wires, appliances, - apparatus and devices in or about building on private or public property; providing for the licensing for regulation and revenue of electrical contr- actors, dealers and wiremen; defining approved electrical materials and appliances; prohibiting the sale or use of unapproved materials and applia- nces; providing penalties for the violation hereof; repealing Ordinance No. B -25 of the City of Yakima and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith. "; and amending Ordinance No. B-211; and declaring an emergency. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That there is hereby added to Section 301 (a) of Ordinance N B -$50 passed and approved by the City Commission on February 2, 1948, and entitled as set forth hereinabove, sub - section (3) which shall read as follows: Any person who wires heating apparatus utilizing either gaseous, solid or liquid fuels, with electrical runs not exceeding 10 feet in length to ex- isting circuits shall have a Hearing Apparatus (Electrical) License, Where electrical runs exceed 10 feet in length to existing circuits or a new cir- cuit is required to be installed, such person shall not be governed by this sub - section, but shall be required to have an Electrical Contractor's Lic- ense as provided for in sub - section (1) above." Section 2. That section 305(a) of Ordinance N B -850 as amended by Ordin- ance No. B -1211, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 305. License Fees. (a) The license fees for electrical Contractors shall be $ 150.06 per year, renewal, $ 50.00 per year; for electrical maint- enance $ 25.00 per year, renewal $ 10.00 per year; for heating apparatus (electrical) 25.00 per year, renewal $ 10.00 per year; all of said licen- ses to be payable in advance. Section 3. This ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, welfare and safety, and an emergency is hereby declared to ex- ist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law and the City Charter.
