B -2115 AN- ORDINANCE relating to and regulating traffic, travel and transportation, and other incidents upon the streets and other ways open to the public; prescribing the powers and duties of officers and others in relation thereto; defining offenses; providing penalties and amending Ordinance No. B -1526; and de- claring an emergency. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. Sub - section (c) of Section 49 of Ordinance No: B -1526 is hereby amended to read as follows: "(c) It shall be unlawful for any person operating a vehicle, to fail to bring such vehicle to a complete stop at any point at which there is located a stop sign except when directed to proceed by a peace officer or traffic control signal; provided, however, that where such stop sign is used in conjunction with traffic control signals and permits the vehicle operator to make a right turn only after coming to a complete stop, the operator after having made such a complete stop shall look out for and give the right -of -way to any vehicles upon the intersecting street which are so close as to con- stitute an immediate hazard, whether or not such operator's vehicle first reaches and enters the intersection." Section 2. This ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, welfare and safety, and an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effedt immediately upon its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law and the City Charter.
