B -210$ AN ORDINANCE providing for the expenditure of funds not provided for in the 195$ Budget for the payment of salary for a deputy engineer, and declaring an emergency. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That an emergency exists requiring the expenditure of not to ex- . ceed 8 5$$0.00 for the payment of the salary of a deputy engineer, which salary shall not exceed $ 490.00 per month. That said emergency has arisen by reason of the increase in work load of the Engineering Department due to the nature, scope and number of pro- jects now undertaken and to be undertaken, all of which could not reasonably have been foreseen at the time of the making of the 195$ Budget. Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized, empowered, and directed to issue emergency warrants upon the funds chargeable therefor upon the presentation of pro- per salary vouchers for the payment of services of a deputy engineer in an aggregate a- mount not to exceed $ 58$0.00 for the calendar year 195$, and the City Treasurer is dir- ected to honor such emergency warrants. Section 3. This ordinance is one to provide for the expenditure of funds not budgeted and an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passafe, approval and publication as provided by law and the City Charter. • • PASSED BY THE CITY COPISSION, signed and approved this 26th day of December, 1957.
