AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of property in the City of Yakima by the constr
uction of necessary mains, fire hydrants, valves and other appurtenances for
the purpose of supplying water for domestic use and fire protection, estab-
lishing a Local Improvement District, providing for the method of payment
therefor, and creating a special fund;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That property in the City of Yakima, Washington, shall be improved
by the construction of necessary mains, fire hydrants, valves and other appurtenances for
the purpose of supplying water for domestic use and fire protection; said improvement to
serve the property the boundaries of which are described as follows:
The SW4,NW4, NW4 of Section 36, Township 13 North, Range 1$,
E. W. M. , which includes Lots 1 to 3$ of the Swan Tracts and
a portion of Block 9 of the Plat of Section 36, Township 13
North, Range 1$,- E.W.M.
All of said improvement to be constructed in full accordance with the plans
and spcifications to be prepared by the City Engineer. .
Section 2. There is hereby created and established a Local Improvement
District, to be called "Local Improvement District No. $60" which said district shall in-
clude all of the property described and set forth in Section 1 hereof.
Section 3. All of the cost and expenses of said improvement, including the
engineering, inspection, advertising, publication of notices, and any other expenses in-
' cident thereto shall be levied and assessed against the above described property as pro -
vided by law, all in accordance with the data and information heretofore submitted and
filed with the City Commission of the City of Yakima by the City Engineer as required by
law.
11 Section 4. All of the work necessary to be done in connection with the mak-
ing os said improvement shall be done by the City of Yakima.
Section 5. There is hereby created a special fund to be called "Local
Improvement Fund, District No. $60" into which shall be paid all sums paid on account of
the aforementioned special assessment, including all interest and penalties thereon; and
in the event of the sale of local improvement bonds by this City, all premiums and inter-
est on said bonds issued for said improvement.
Section 6. Bonds bearing interest at the rate of 4% per annum, payable on or
before 12 years from date of issuance shall be issued in payment of the costs and expenses
of the said improvement, which bonds shall be redeemed by the collection of special assess-
ments to be levied and assessed upon the property within the said district, payable in ten
annual installments, with interest at the rate of 4% per annum, interest payable annually
under the mode of "payment by bonds" as defined by the statutes of the State of Washington
and the ordinances of the City of Yakima.
Section 7. This ordinance is one relating to local improvements or assess-
ments therefor, and shall become effective immediately upon its passage, approval and
publication as provided by the city charter.
