ORDINANCE NO. B -2094 .
AN ORDINANCE relating to and regulating traffic, travel and transportation and other in-
cidents upon the streets and other ways open to the public; prescribing the
powers and duties of officers and others in relation thereto; defining offen-
ses; providing penalties; and amending Ordinance No. B -1526, and other ordin
ances in conflict herewith.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. Section 39 -(b) 2 shall be amended to read as follows:
"Section 39(b)2. Twenty -five (25) miles per hour throughout the city except
as otherwise limited by this code; provided however, that the legal speedlimit on the fol
lowing arterials shall be a maximum of 30 miles per hour in areas not posted otherwise;
(a) First Street throughout the City of Yakima; (b) Lenox Avenue and Nob Hill Boulevard
from 16th Avenue to the Western City Limits; (c) Tieton Drive from 32nd Avenue (Grandview
Avenue) to Western limits of the City of Yakima; (d) Summitview Avenue from 16th Avenue
to the Western limits of the City of Yakima; (e5 Lincoln Avenue from 16th Avenue to the
Western limits of the City of Yakima; (f) Fifth Avenue from Fruitvale Avenue to "C" Stree
(g) Third Avenue and Broadway from Walnut Street to the South limits of the City df Yakim6
(h) that portion of N 16th A within the corporate limits of the City of Yakima
from Lincoln Avenue to Fruitvale Boulevard."
"Section 2. Section $$(a) of said Ordinance No. B -1526 shall be amended by
adding thereto the following: .' .
"South 2nd Street: The West Side of South 2nd .Street from East Spruce Street
to East Pine'Street." a
"Fifth Avenue: Both sides of Fifth Avenue from Walnut Street to "A" Street.'
Section 3. - Section $$(e) of Ordinance no. B -1526 shall be amended by adding
thereto the following: _
"East Spruce Street, from South 1st S to South:2nd Street, except that
portion E of the alley on the North side of Spruce Street."
Section 4. Section $$(f) of Ordinance No. B -1526 is hereby amended to read
as follows:
"(f) Two -Hour Angle Parking: The operator of a vehicle shall not stop or
angle park such vehicle for a longer continuous time than two hours between the hours of
9:00 a.m. and 6 :00 p.m., of any day except Sundays and holidays, upon the following des-
cribed portions of the following named streets and avenues in the City of Yakima:
"That portion of the South side of East Spruce Street lying between South
2nd S and the first alley to the Wgst."
Section 5. Section 87 of Ordinance No. B -1526 is hereby amended by adding
thereto the following:
"(k) It shall be unlawful for any vehicle except a publicly owned vehicle
bearing a license plate with an MX or CX suffix to park on East "B" Street between North
2nd S and North 3rd Street in the zone marked "City Cars only ", and further designa-
ted by a yellow painted curb."
Section 6. All other ordinance or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 7. This ordinance shall have full force and effect 30 days from and
after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
PASSED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, signed and approved this 6th day of November,
1957.
