AN ORDINANCE creating a special fund to be known as the "Shop Fund" and providing for a
special expenditure therefrom; abolishing the Gas and Oil Fund and provid-
ing for the transfer of the remaining balance in said fund to the Shop Fund;
repealing Ordinance No. B -636 and Resolution No. C -1103, and declaring an
emergency.
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Gas and Oil Fund created pursuant to the terms
of Ordinance No. B -636 can be served equally as well by use of the Shop Fund established
by Resolution C -1103; and
WHEREAS, a reduction in the number of funds for operational and budgetary
purposes is deemed to be in the best interests of the City; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That there is hereby created and established a special fund to
be known as the "Shop Fund ". That the moneys in said fund shall be used for the purshase
of gas and oil, materials, parts and supplies of whatsoever nature for the repair of City
vehicles. That said gas and oil, materials, parts and supplies may be stockpiled and an
inventory accumulated in reasonable amounts to provide for anticipated uses thereof.
Section 2. That each department of the City of Yakima which hereafter re-
ceives repair service for its vehicles at the City Garage shall be charged therefor on
the basis of the cost of the labor for said repairs plus the cost of the parts and mater-
ials used therefor plus an addition 10% of the cost of the parts and materials used for
such repairs. That such additional 10% shall also be applicable and added to the cost of
gas and o°_1 used in City vehicles.
Section 3. That the gas and Oil Fund be and the same is hereby abolished
and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to transfer the balance remain-
ing in said fund, if any, to the Shop Fund.
Section 4. That all monies, materials, parts and supplies in the Shop Fun
as created by Resolution No. C -1103 shall be deemed to be within the fund established by
this ordinance, and all gas and oil inventroies within the gas and oil fund be and the
same are hereby transferred to the shop fund. inventories.
Section 5. That ordinance No.. B -636 and Resolution No. C -1103 be and the
same are hereby repealed.
Section 6. This ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of
the . public peace, health, welfare and safety, and an emergency is hereby declared to ex-
ist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect the 1st day of January, 1958.
