HomeMy WebLinkAbout1957-B-2058 150 ORDINANCE NO. B- 2058 AN ORDINANCE creating a Traffic Board, prescribing its powers and duties and providing for the appointment of its members. BE IT ORDAINLD BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That there is hereby created a Traffic Board consisting of five members. Section 2. The Traffic Board shall consist of the Traffic Engineer, and a representative to be appointed by the Department Head from each of the following Depart- ments: Fire Department, Police Department, Planning Department, and Engineering Depart- ment. All appointments shall be subject to the approval of a majority of the City Comm- ission. Section 3. The members of the Traffic Board shall serve without additional compensation. Section 4. The Traffic Board shall hold meetings not less than once each month. Section 5. It shall be the duty of such Traffic Board to make, or have made such traffic studies and to lay plans and recommendations as are required to assure the most convenient and economic use of streets and other public thoroughfares in the City. It shall also be its duty to recommend to the City Commission of the City of Yakima, from time to time, the passage of legislation required to put such plans and recommendations into effect. Section 6. This ordinance shall become effective 30 days after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and the City Charter.
