B -2049 AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. B- 585 "AN ORDINANCE levying an admission tax on persons paying admissions, or who are admitted fred or at reduced rates to any place; fixing the amount and providing for collection thereof; prescribing penalties; and declaring an .emergency.' BE IT ORDAINID BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. 'Section 2 (a) of `' rdinance B -585 be, and the same is hereby, amended to read as follows: "Section 2. (a) There is hereby levied and imposed upon every person (incl- uding childred, without regard to age) who pays an admission charge to any place, includ- ing a tax on persons who are admitted free of charge or at reduced rates to any place for which other persons pay charge or a regular higher charge for the same or similar privi- leges or accommodations, which said tax shall be in the amount of one cent for each twenty cents or fraction thereof paid for the admission charge; provided, however, that the rate of tax applicable to admission charges to theatres for the purpose of viewing motion pic- tures shall be one cent for each forty cents or fraction thereof paid for the admission charge." Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective 30 days after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and the City Charter.
