ORDINANCE NO. B -2038 -.
AN ORDINANCE providing for the expenditure of funds not provided for in the 1957 Budget
for the purchase of a radio transmitter - receiver by the Department of Civil
Defense; and declaring an emergency..
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That an emergency exists requiring the expenditure of not to ex-
ceed $ 300.00 for the purchase of a radio transmitter - receiver by the Department of Civil
Defense; that it is deemed in the best interests of the City of Yakima and said Department
that said equipment be acquired. That the need for said piece of equipment could not rea-
sonably have been foreseen at the time of making the 1957 Budget.
Section 2. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized, empowered and directed
to issue emergency warrants upon the appropriate fund for said purpose in the aggregate a-
mount not to exceed $ 300.00 upon the presentation of proper vouchers therefor.
Section 3. This Ordinance is one to provide for the expenditure of funds not
budgeted and an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force'
and effect after its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law and
the City Charter.
Section 4. This ordinance shall not be voted upon until one week shall have
elapsed after its introduction.
PASSED BY THE UNANIMOUS VOTE OF THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COMMISSIONERS OF THE
CITY OF YAKIMA this 20th day of June, 1957.
