B -2026 AN ORDINANCE amending Section 32, 33 and 39 of Water Code Ordinance No. B -606, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE relating to and regulating the operation of the Water Depart- ment of the City of Yakima; providing for the management and control there- of; providing for rules regulating and fixing the use and prove of water supplied by the City, and connections therewith; amending and re- writing Ordinance A -988 as amended; providing penalties for the violation thereof; repealing certain ordinances and declaring an emergency; and providing for increased water rates. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. Section 32 of Ordinance No. B -606 is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 32. The charges for water supplied shall be made up of a service charge and a charge for water consumed. The service charge inside the City Limits shall be as follows: ONE MONTH PERIOD $ 0.50 TWO MONTH PERIOD 1.00 The service charge outside of the City Limits shall be as follows: ONE MONTH PERIOD $ 0.75 TWO MONTH PERIOD 1.50 The charges for water consumed by customers inside the City Limits shall be as follows: ONE MONTH PERIOD: First 1,200 Cu. Ft 8 0.25 per 100 Cu. Ft. Next 10,800 Cu. Ft 0.15 per 100 Cu. Ft. Next 12,000 Cu. Ft 0.10 per 100 Cu. Ft. All over 24,000 Cu. Ft 0.08 per 100 Cu. Ft. TWO MONTH PERIOD: First 2,400 Cu. Ft S 0.25 per 100 Cu. Ft. Next 21,600 Cu. Ft 0.15 per 100 Cu. Ft. Next 24,000 Cu. Ft 0.10 per 100 Cu. Ft. All over 48,000 Cu. Ft 0.08 per 100 Cu. Ft. The charges for water consumed by customers outside the City Limits shall be as follows: ONE MONTH PERIOD: First 1,200 Cu. Ft $ 0.30 per 100 Cu. Ft. Next 10,800 Cu. Ft 0.18 per 100 Cu. Ft. All over 12,000 Cu. Ft 0.10 per 100 Cu. Ft. TWO MONTH PERIOD: First 2,400 Cu. Ft $ 0.30 per 100 Cu. Ft. Next 21,600 Cu. Ft 0.18 per 100 Cu. Ft. All over 24,000 Cu. Ft 0.10 per 100 Cu. Ft. Section 2. Section 33 of Ordinance No. B -606 is hereby amended to read .. as follows: "MINIMUM PERIOD CHARGES ('See Section 28) Section 33. Section 3. Section 39 of Ordinance No. B -606 is hereby amended to read as follows: "RATES FOR FIRE SERVICE Section 39. The water Department shall inspect all fire service connections with all piping, fire gates and other appurtenances attached thereto and the premises served thereby, at regular in- tervals and as often as found necessary. The inspector, properly identified, shall have access to the premises for such inspection, and the inspector shall keep a record and memoranda of all inspec- tions made. RATES INSIDE THE CITY LIMITS (a) The minimum monthly charge for fire service inspection inside the City Limits shall be as follows: For a 2 inch service connection $ 1.50 9 3 " }t 2.25 " 4 fl " 3.00 9 6 " " 4.00 " 8 9 " 6.00 These minimum charges shall apply in all cases within the City Limits where automatic sprinklers are installed and where fire gates and other outlets are sealed. No charge will be made for water used in extinguishing fire. Should the Water Department find that water not metered is used through a fire connection for any purpose other than the extinguish- ing of fire upon the premises, the owner and occupant will be noti- fied, and if such improper conditions are not corrected Within ten (10) days the water will be shut off until proper adjustments are made. RATES OUTSIDE THE CITY LIMITS (b) The minimum monthly charge for fire protection service outside the City Limits shall be as follows: For each 2 inch connection serving either automatic sprinklers or two fire hose connections, or both $ 3.00 For each 3 inch connection serving either automatic sprinklers or three fire hose connections, or both $ 4.50 For each 4 inch connection serving either automatic sprinklers or Il four fire hose connections, or both $ 6.00 For each 6 inch connection serving either automatic sprinklers or six fire hose connections, or both 0 9.00 For each additional fire hose outlet $ 1.50. For each 4 inch hydrant - $ 6.00 i For each 6 inch hydrant' $ 9.00 r ORDINANCE NO. B -2026 The inside diameter of the pipe leading to a fire hydrant shall determine the size of the hydrant. If any fire protection service is installed outside of the limits of the City, the same may be discontinued at the will of the City Commission, and the connect- ion with the main removed at the expense of the owner or occupant of the property served': Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty days after its passage, approval and publication as provided by tae and the City Charter.
