ORDINANCE NO. B- 2024 -A
AN ORDINANCE creating a Cumulative Reserve Fund to be known as the "Cumulative Reserve -
Fund For Domestic Water Supply Development" as authorized by Chapter 60,
Laws of 1941 of the State of Washington; providing for the payment into
said fund of all sums hereafter budgeted and appropriated therefor and for
the expenditure thereof, and providing for a transfer of funds from the
Water Fund.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. There is hereby created a fund to be known as the "Cumulative
Reserve Fund for Domestic Water Supply Development ". The monies in said fund shall be
used for the purpose of defraying the cost of Providing an adequate domestic water supply
system for the City of Yakima. Said costs shall include the construction of necessary
structures, required pipe lines, pumps and piping, water treatment facilities, reservoirs
and control equipment, land acquisition, engineering costs, test drilling, purchase of
water or storage rights, and /or any other costs necessary for the purpose of acquiring a
water supply and making same a part of the domestic water distribution system of the City
of Yakima.
Section 2. That for the purpose of accumulating said fund, the City Comm-
ission shall be, and it is hereby, authorized to appropriate each year at the time of the
making and adoption of the annual budget of said City the sum.of not less than $60,000.00
from the Water Department Revenues for said fund and to include said item in said annual;
budget; and said item may be repeated from year to year until, in the judgment of the
Commission, the amount required for the specific purposes herein set forth has been rais
ed or accumulated.
Section 3. That the sum of $10,000.00 be, and the same is hereby, transferr-
ed from the Water Fund to said Cumulative Reserve Fund, and the City Treasurer is hereby;
authorized, empowered and directed to make the aforementioned transfer from said Water
Fund.
Section 4. Any monies in said Cumulative Reserve Fund at the end of the
fiscal year shall not lapse nor shall the same be a surplus available which may be used
for any other purpose than that specified herein, except as expressly provided in Chapter
60, Laws of 1941 of the State of Washington.
Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty days
after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, signed and approved this 15th day of May,
1957.
