ORDINANCE NO.. B -2024
AN ORDINANCE creating the position of "Administrative Assistant to the Planning Director"
and providing for the expenditure of funds not provided for in the 1957 Bud-
get for the payment of the salary for said Administrative Assistant and de-
claring an emergency.
WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution plssed by the Planning Commission on April
17, 1957, it appears that the administrative duties of the Planning Commission have in-
creased to the extent that said Commission finds it difficult or impossible to meet its
present or future responsibilities and that an emergency exists requiring the creation of
a new position to be known as "Administrative Assistant to the Planning Director"; and
WHEREAS, said emergency could not reasonably have been foreseen at the time
of making the 1957 budget, NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. There is hereby created a new position within the Planning Comm-
ission to be known as "Administrative Assistant to the Planning Director ",
Section 2. That an emergency exists requiring the expenditure of not to ex-
ceed $ 2120.00 for the payment of the salary of said administrative assistant which sal-
ary shall not exceed $ 265.00 per month. That said emergency has arisen by reason of the
increased work load of the Planning Commission., which increased work load could not yeas =
onably have been foreseen at the time of snaking the 1957 budget.
Section 3. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized, empowered and directed
to issue emergency warrants upon the fund chargeable therefor upon the presentation of
proper salary vouchers for the payment of services of an administrative assistant to the
Planning Director in the aggregate amount not to exceed $ 2120.00 for the remainder of th;
calender year 1957.
Section 4. This ordinance is one to provide for the expenditure of funds
not budgeted and an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect immediately upon its passage, approval, and publication as provided by
law and the City Charter..

1957.
