ORDINANCE NO. B -2005
AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. B -293, being an ordinance regulating and restricting
the location of trades and industri -es; regulating the limits the use of
building and premises; and the height and size of buildings; providing for
yards, courts, and other open spaces; establishing districts for said pur-
poses, and providing for a Board of Adjustment;
WHEREAS, the City Commission has duly considered the re- zoning of certain
specific property in the City of Yakima as hereinafter more fully described, and it
appearing that the Yakima Planning Commission has duly considered and recommended such
changes and notice of said proposed re- zoning having been given by one publication in a
newspaper of general circulation in the County, and there having been conducted a public
hearing hereon; and it appearing to be in the best interest of the City of Yakima to so
re -zone said premises, NOW, THEREFORE, ,
.;BE.-IT, ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That Section 8 of said Ordinance No. B -293 be and the same is
hereby amended by adding thereto the following Section 8B, providing for the establish-
ment of an Airport Industrial District:
"Section 8B. Airport Industrial District.
(a) That the following described property situate in the City of Yakima,
Yakima County, Washington, to -wit:
Beginning at the intersection of the south bank of Wide Hollow Creek
and the center line of 24th Avenue South, thence easterly along said south
- bank to thet :north :. line of the South Half, of the South Half of the Northeast
Quarter of Section 35, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M., thence east
along said north line to the center line of 16th Avenue South; thence south
along the center line of 16th Avenue South to a point 405 feet north of the
Southeast Corner of Section 35, Towndship 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M.; thence
South 88 649.5 feet; thence South 0 ° 27" east, a distance of 2150.4
feet; thence South 89 West, a distance of 697.7 feet; thence north 6 0 18"
East, a distance of 401.23 feet; thence North 80 0 30" West, a distance of
3474.1 feet; thence North 30 °04" West, 909.1 feet; thence West 99.6 feet to
the Southwest corner of Section 35, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M.,
thence North along the West line of said Section 35, a distance of 1654.1
feet; thence North 70 0 03" West to the west line of the Northeast Quarter of
Section 34, Township 13 North, Range 18,E.W.M.; thence north along the west
line of said Northeast Quarter 1600 feet, more or less, to a line drawn
parallel with and 750 feet at right angles from the center line extended of
the north -west Southeast runway of the Yakima Municipal Airport; thence
South 70° 03" East to the center line of Washington Avenue; thence east
along the center line of Washingtion Avenue to a point 400 feet West of the
center of Section 35, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M., thence North 230
feet; thence West 55 feet; thence North 241 feet; thence East 110 feet;
thence South 220.5 feet; thence East 345 feet to the center line of 24th
Avenue South; thence North along said center line to the point of beginning.
be and the same is hereby re -zoned and changed from Residence Listrict "B " to an Airport
District.
(b) The following uses only are permitted in an Airport Industrial District:
1. Manufacture, maintenance, operation and repair of aircraft.
2. Commercial aircraft services and transport.
3. Manufacturing or processing of articles or products provided that one
of the following requirements is met:
a. Any manufacturing or processing of articles or products shall be
clearly related to the manufacture, maintenance, operation and /or
repair of aircraft, or
b. Any manufacturing or processing of articles or goods shall be
clearly related to the air transport of such articles or goods.
4. Warehousing and storage of articles or products related to the manu-
facture, maintenance, and repair of aircraft, and /or air transport.
5. Uses and /or devices necessary for the proper and safe operation of air-
craft and /or airport facilities.
6. Retailuses and /or other uses clearly incidental to the comfort and
convenience of airport patrons, and /or employees.
7. Dwellings or shelters for the o:_ cupancy of guards, watchmen or care-
takers, or dwellings for the occupancy of the operators and employees
necessary for the operation of uses permitted in an Airport Industrial
District.
8. Agricultural uses."

ORDINANCE NO. B -2005
Section 2. The above changes in zoning shall be included and depicted upon
the next regularly amended use District Map prepared by and for said city.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file with
the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this ordinance.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in. full force and effect 30 days after
its final passage, approval, and publication as provided by law and the City Charter.
