B-1904 AN ORDINANCE providing for a full time clerk for the police judge and increasing his salary accordingly, and amending Ordinance No. B -513 entitled "AN ORDINANCE creating the office of clerk for the police judge defining his duties and providing for his bond ". BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: • Section 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. B -513 is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 2. Clerk to the police judge shall be appointed by the police judge with the approval of the Chief of Police, the duties of which clerk shall be to assist the police judge in clerical work incidental to the performance of his duties, which duties shall constitute the full time occupation of said clerk." - Section 2. That an emergency exists requiring the appointment of a full time clerk for the police judge and requiring the expenditure of the additional sum of $100.00 per month for the - payment of the additional salary of said clerk; it appearing that funds therefor were not appropriated or included in the 1956 budget and that it was impossible at the time of making said budget to have reasonably foreseen that a full time clerk rather than a part •time clerk was necessary and to have reasonably foreseen the need for such additional monies for said purpose. Section 3. The employment of a full time clerk for the police judge is hereby authorized, said employment to commence July 1, 1956, at a total salary of $300.00 per month and such employment is hereby ratified and approved. Section 4. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized, empowered, and directed to issue emergency warrants upon the funds properly chargeable therefor for the addi- tional salary of said full time clerk for the police judge for the remainder of the year 1956, in a sum not to exceed $600.00 upon the presentation of proper vouchers therefor. Section 5. This ordinance is one providing for the expenditure of funds not budgeted and an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage, approval, and publication as provided by law and the city charter.
