ORDINANCE-NO. B -1903
AN ORDINANCE providing for the expenditure of funds not provided for in the 1956 budget
for the payment of salaries for a cost accountant and a secretary therefor,
and declaring an emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That an emergency exists requiring the expenditure of not to
exceed $3000.00 for the payment of the salary for a cost accountant at $6000.00 per year
and a secretary therefor at a salary of $3,750.00 per year and an expenditure in the
year 1956 from the effective date of this ordinance of not to exceed $4875.00. That
said emergency has arisen by reason of the extraordinary work entailed in the change in
the form of government of the City of Yakima voted at the last election, which could not
have reasonably been foreseen at the time of the making of the 1956 budget.
Section 2. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized, empowered, and directed
to issue emergency warrants upon the funds chargeable therefor upon the presentation of
proper salary vouchers for the payment of a cost accountant and a secretary therefor not
provided for in the 1956 budget pertaining to, the commission in an aggregate amount not
to exceed x'4875.00 for the remainder of the calender year 1956.
Section 3. This ordinance is one to provide for the expenditure of funds
not budgeted and an emergency is declared to exist under R.C.W. 35.33.080 with special
reference to change in form of city government and this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect immediately upon its passage, approval, and publication as provided by law
and the city charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, signed and approved this 2nd day of July,
1956.
