B -1898 AN ORDINANCE providing for the expenditure of funds not provided for in the 1956 budget for the payment of salary for an assistant purchasing agent and personnel manager and declaring an emergency. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That an emergency exists requiring the expenditure of not to exceed $3,000.00 for the payment of the salary of an assistant purchasing agent which salary shall not exceed 8250.00 per month and requiring the expenditure of not to exceed $3,000.00 for the payment of the salary of a personnel manager which salary shall not exceed 8250.00 per month. That said emergency has arisen by reason of the large number of projects now undertaken and to be undertaken requiring additional personnel and re- quiring the acquisition of materials, which work could not reasonably have been forseen at the time of making the 1956 budget. Section 2. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized, empowered, and directed to issue emergency warrants upon the funds chargeable therefor upon the presentation of proper salary vouchers for the payment of services of an assistant purchasing agent and a personnel manager in an aggregate amount not to exceed $3,000.00 each for the calender. year 1956. Section 3. This ordinance is to provide for the expenditure of funds not budgeted and an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage, approval, and publication as provided by law and the city charter.
