® RDINANCE NO. B -1888
AN ORDINANCE providing for the expenditure of funds not budgeted for the Building
Department, and declaring an emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That an emergency exists requiring the expenditure of
the sum of $455.50 by the Building Department of the City of Yakima, for payment
of the cost of examination and checking the plans and specifications of the new
school building near Tieton Drive and 40th Avenue in said city, by :. - the Pacific
Coast Building Officials Conference, Plans Checking Office, of Los Angeles, California,
it appearing that said school building plans are of a new and novel nature requir-
ing such examination and checking, it appearing that funds therefore were not
appropriated or included in the 1956 budget, and that it was impossible at the time
of making said budget to have reasonably foreseen the need for such additional monies
for said purpose.
Section 2. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized, empowered and
directed to issue emergency warrants upon the funds properly chargeable therefore
for said purpose in a sum not to exceed 5455.50 , for the said Building Department
upon presentation of proper vouchers therefor.
Section 3. This ordinance is one providing for the expenditure of
funds not budgeted, and an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance
shall become effective immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as providvd
by law and the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, signed and approved, this 28th day
of May, 1956.
