ORDINANCE NO. B -1866
AN ORDINANCE amending Section 15 of the Zoning Ordinance No. B -293, entitled "AN ORDI-
NANCE regulating and restricting the location of trades and industries;
regulating and limiting the use of buildings and premises; and the height
and size of buildings; providing for yards, courts and other open spaces;
establishing districts for said purposes, and providing for a board of ad-
juatment, and repealing Ordinances Nos. B-22, B-35, B -43, B -51, B-71,
B-126, B-147 and B -172 "; and permitting off - street parking facilities in
residence districts under certain circumstances.
WHEREAS, the passage of this ordinance has been recommeded by the City
Planning Commission by reason of the lack of adequate off - street parking facilities;
now, therefore, °
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. Section 15 of the Zoning Ordinance No. B -293, passed on. March
28, 1938, entitled as shown in the caption hereof, as amended, is hereby amended by
adding thereto at the end thereof an additional subsection to be designated "(h)" read-
ing as follows: '
"(h) Off Street Parking Facilities: Off street parking facilities in A
Residence, .B Residence, and C Residence Districts shall be permitted,
provided, that the following requirements are met:
(1) No charge shall be made for the use of such parking facilities.
(2) Parking facilities shall be accessory to uses listed in sub-
section (h) of this section (15).
(3) The external boundaries of such parking facilities shall be
landscaped, planted and arranged in such manner as to screen
them from abutting property. Landscaping shall be maintained
and kept so as not to become unsightly..
(4) The side and rear yard requirements of the residence district
shall be met.
(5) Such parking facilities shall be adjacent to the use to which
it is accessory.
(6) Such parking facility shall be paved or otherwise surfaced as to
eliminate dust and mud.
(7) Lanes used for ingress and egress

Section 2. This ordinance Charten
days after its passage, approv al and p ublication as provided
PASSED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, signed and approved, this 2nd day of April,
1956.
