ORDINANCE, NO. B -1$61
AN ORDINANCE providing for the expenditure of funds not budgeted for the employment of an
additional clerk in the city clerk's office, and declaring an emergency.
BE IT. ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That an emergency exists requiring the employment of an addi-
tional clerk in the city clerk's office of the City of Yakima, and requiring the expen-
diture of the sum of $225.00 per month for payment of said clerk's salary; it appearing
' that funds therefor were not appropriated or included in the 1956 budget and that it was
impossible at the time of making said budget to have reasonable foreseen the need for
such additional monies for said purpose..
• Section 2. The employment of an additional clerk in the office of the city
.clerk is hereby authorized, said imployment to commence March 1, 1956, at a monthly sal-
ary of $225.00 per month, and such employment is hereby ratified and approved.
Section 3. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized, empowered and directed
to issue emergency warrants upon the funds properly chargeable therefor for the salary
of said additional clerk for the remainder of the year 1956, in a sum not to exceed
$225.00 upon the presentation of proper vouchers therefor.
Section ' 4- . This ordinance is one providing for the expenditure of funds
not budgeted and an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be-
come effective immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by .
law and the City Charter.
