B -1855 AN ORDINANCE providing for the purchase of a radio receiver for the Irrigation Depart- ment, providing for transfer of funds therefor, and declaring an emergency. WHEREAS, an emergency exists requiring the expenditure of the sum of $465.00 for the purchase of a radio receiver for the Irrigation Department of the City of Yakima, it appearing that funds therefor were not provided in the 1956 budget and it was impossible at the time of preparing said budget to have reasonably foreseen the need for said expenditure; and it further appearing that sufficient funds for said purpose are available for transfer from the maintenance and operation item of "Materials & Supplies, $6,000.00" of said Irrigation Department; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That the sum of $465.00 is required for the purchase of a radio receiver for the Irrigation Department of the City of Yakima,and that said sum is avail- able for transfer from the item "Material and Supplies, $6,000.00" of said department. Section 2. That the transfer and expenditure of said sum for said purpose in the manner described in Section 1 hereinabove set forth is fully and in all respects authorized and approved, and the appropriate city officials are hereby authorized, em- powered and directed to do any and all things necessary for carrying out this ordinance. Section 3. This ordinance is one providing for the transfer of funds from an item of the 1956 budget, and an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordi- nance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage, approval and.publi- cation, as provided by law and the City Charter.
