B -1$10 AN ORDINANCE transferring police women from the Statewide City Employees Retirement Sys - tem to the Police Pension Fund of the City of':Yakima, and declaring an emergency. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1.' From and after January 1, 1956, all police women employed as such in the police department shall be and they are hereby transferred from the Statewide City Employees Retirement System to the Police Pension Fund of this city; and said police women and the city shall make contributions to said Police Pension Fund and said police women shall be entitled to the benefits thereof on the same basis as male policemen; and further contribution to the Statewide City Employees R System shall not be made by said police women or by the City for them; rpovided, however, that each of the police women now employed in said police department shall have the voluntary right and option whether or not to make such transfer or to remain under the said present retirement sys- t Section 2. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health and safety and an emergency is declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage, appro- val and publication as provided by law and the City Charter.
