B -17$0 AN ORDINANCE amending Section 56 of Traffic Code Ordinance No. B -1526 entitled "AN ORDINANCE relating to and regulating traffic, travel and transportation and their incidents upon the streets and other wayscpen to the public; prescribing the powers and duties of officers and others in relation ' thereto; defining offenses; providing penalties, and repealing Ordinances No. B -131 and all amendments thereof and all other ordinances in so far as . they are in conflict. therewith, and declaring an emergency" as amended, and declaring an emergency. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. Section 56 of Traffic Code Ordinance No. B -1526, passed on December 31, 1953, entitled as shown in the caption hereof, as amended by Ordinance No. B-154.6, is thereby amended to read as "follows: "Section 56. Vehicles Not to Be Driven on Sidewalk or Parking Strips -- Not to Be Tested on City Street ;; . (a) No person shall drive a vehicle on or across any sidewalk or side- walk area or parking strip except at a permanent ortemporary driveway, nor shall any vehicle be parked on any parking strip. (b) No person shall operate any motor vehicle along or upon any park drive, parkway, boulevard or street for the purpose of testing it or ascertaining its fitness for service. (c) No person shall drive or park a. vehicle, either loaded or unloaded, having a gross weight in exCess.bf 5000 pounds, upon, over or across any curb." Section 2. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate preser- vation of the public peace, property, health and safety, and an emergency is declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication, as provided' by law and the City Charter.
