B -1753 AN ORDINANCE amending Section 88 of Ordinance No. B- 1526, entitled "AN ORDINANCE relating to and regulating traffic, travel and transportation and their incidents upon the streets and other ways open to the public; prescribing the powers and duties of officers and others in relation thereto; defining offenses; providing penalties, and repealing Ordinance No. B -131 and all amendments thereof and all other ordinances in so far as they are in conflict there- with, and declaring an emergency", and declaring an emergency. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: .. Section 1. Paragraph (a) Section 88 of Ordinance No. B -1526, passed on December 31, 1953, entitled as shown in the caption hereof, as amended by Ordinance No. B- 1546, is hereby amended to read as follows: "(a) ONE HOUR PARKING OR ANGLE PARKING: The operator of a vehicle shall not stop, park or angle park such vehicle for a longer continuous time than one hour between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. of any day except Sundays and holidays, upon the following described portions of the following named streets and avenues in the City of Yakima: Front Street (South): The west side from Yakima Avenue to Chestnut Street and both sides from Chestnut Street to Walnut Street. Front Street (North) : Both sides from "A" Street to "B" Street. East "B" Street: Both sides East "B" Street from Front to 1st Street. North 1st Street: Both sides North 1st Street from 'B' to ICI Streets. West Walnut Street: Both sides ,of West Walnut Street from 3rd Avenue to 4th Avenue. East Walnut Street: The North side of East Walnut Street, from the alley between South 3rd Street and South 4th Street, East to South Fourth Street. West Yakima Avenue: Both sides of West Yakima Avenue, from 6th Avenue West to 7th Avenue. South 4th Avenue: The West side of South Fourth Avenue from Yakima Avenue South to Chestnut Street. North Fourth Avenue: Both sides of North Fourth Avenue from Yakima Avenue north to "A" Street. West Chestnut Street: Both sides of West Chestnut Street from .South 4th Avenue West to the alley midway between South 4th Avenue and South 5th Avenue.. . During said hours the operator of a vehicle shall not park the same except parallel parking for not exceeding one hour, upon the following described portions of the following named streets and avenues in said City: Spruce Street: The South side of Spruce Street between South 1st Stree; and South 2nd Street. . East Walnut Street: Both sides of Walnut Street from South 1st Street to Front Street. West Walnut Street: Both sides of Walnut Street from 4th Avenue to 6th Avenue. - South Fifth'Avenue: Both sides South 5th Avenue from Yakima Avenue to West Walnut Street. North Sixth Avenue: Both sides of North 6th Avenue from Yakima Avenue to "A" Street. . "Each hour during which a vehicle is permitted by the driver thereof to park or angle park in violation hereof, shall be deemed as a separate offense. Any person .mho shall .violate this provision of this ordinance shall be fined no more than $1.00 for each such offense." Section 2. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health and safety and an emergency is declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage, ap- proval and publication as provided by law and the City Charter.
