ORDINANCE NO. B -1708
AN ORDINANCE fixing the salaries of the Mayor and City Commissioners, and superseding
Section 5 of Article II of the City Charter.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. The salary of the Mayor shall be Nine Thousand Dollars ($9,000.00,
per year and that of each of the Commissioners shall be Seven Thousand Five Hundred Ibllars
($7,500.00) per year, payable monthly.
Section 2. Prior to each city primary election subsequent to 1956, the
Mayor with the approval of the City Commission may appoint an advisory committee to study
and make its report and recommendations to the City Commission as to the amount of the
salaries of said officials.
Section 3. This ordinance is passed pursuant to Chapter 354, Laws of 1955,
and supersedes and repeals Section 5 of Article II of the City Charter.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30)
days after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and the City Charter.
This ordinance shall apply only to salaries earned after the commencement of the next
term of office of said officials in June, 1956.
PASSED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, signed and approved this 5th day of July,
1955.
