ORDINANCE .NO. B -16.74
AN ORDINANCE amending Sections 4 and 8 of Ordinance No. A -774, entitled "AN ORDINANCE
relating to and regulating card rooms and the operation of card tables;
providing for the payment of a license fee for the purpose of regulation
and revenue; providing a penalty for its violation, and declaring an emer-
gency.", repealing Ordinance No. B --601, and declaring an emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. . Section 4 of Ordinance No A-7 74, passed on March 19, .1923,
entitled as shown in the caption hereof, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 4. The license fee for any license is hereby fixed at the sum of
$300 ;00 for the first card table, $200.00 for the second table, and $100.00 for each ad-
ditional table; the same being based on the total number of tables in such location or
establishment available for use (whether or not actually in use). The same shall be pay-
able to the City Clerk annually in advance; provided that the full annual amount thereof
shall be payable during the year, 1955 and each year thereafter when such license is issued
hereunder. No part of any license fee shall be refunded upon revocation of any license
for violation of any ordinance.." .
Section 2. Section 8 of Ordinance No. A-77 is hereby amended to read as
follows:
"Section 8. Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this
ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction thereof, shall be
find any sum not to exceed $300..00 or by imprisonment for 90 days in the city jail, or by
both such fine and imprisonment."
.Section 3. Ordinance No. B -601 is hereby repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate preservation
of the public peace, property, health and safety, and a n emergency is declared to exist,
and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage, ap-
proval and publication, as provided by law and the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, signed and approved, this 23rd day of March,
1955.
