B -1633 AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. B -1190 entitled "AN ORDINANCE relating to, regulating and licensing the.business of merchant patrolmen,.def ining such business, and fixing an effective date,". BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. B -1190 passed October 23, 1950, en- titled as shown in the caption hereof, is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 2. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to be or become a merchant patrolman or to solicit business as a merchant patrolman without being the holder of a valid and subsisting license issued under the provisions of this ordinance, such license to be designated as "Merchant Patrolman's License ". The fee for such license shall'be $25.00 per year, or in case of a temporary employee as such, shall be $5.00 per month. All annual licenses shall expire on the 31st day of October of. each year, and no reduction in fee for such licenses shall be made for any partial year. ". Section 2. Section 4 of said Ordinance No. B -1190 is hereby amended to read as follows:' "Section 4. At the time of applying for such license, applicant shall pay, to the City Clerk the license fee as hereinabove provided, and shall also furnish and deliver to said City Clerk a statement of the Chief of Police or of the Yakima County Cheriff's office showing that applicant is either a special deputy or special policeman, as the case may be. Applicant shall also deliver to such City Clerk the letter herein - before required, and a statement from the custodian of fingerprint records of the City of Yakima stating that applicant has been fingerprinted." Section 3. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health and safety and an emergency is declared to exist, • and this ordinance shall be in. full force and effect immediately upon its passage, ap- proval, and publication, as provided by law and the City Charter. 1954.
