AN ORDINANCE providing for the expenditure of funds not budgeted for partial payment for
the acquisition of land for the City Water Department, and declaring an
emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That an emergency exists requiring the expenditure of the sum
of $1000.00 as partial payment of the purchase price of certain land in Yakima County,
Washington, for the acquisition of additional facilities for the City Water Department;
it appearing that funds therefor were not appropriated by or included in the 1954 .budget
and that it was impossible at the time of making said budget to have reasonably foreseen
the need for such monies for such purpose.
Section 2. The City Treasurer Is hereby authorized, empowered, and direc-
ted to issue an emergency warrant upon the City Water Department fund for said purpose
in the sum of $1000.00, upon the presentation of proper voucher therefor.
Section 3. This ordinance is one providing for the expenditure of funds
not budgeted, and an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be-
come effective immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by law
and the City Charter.

ber, 1954.
