x632 . • ORDINANCE NO. B -157$ AN ORDINANCE providing for the expenditure of funds not budgeted, for purchase of mat- erials for an underground conduit for carrying fire alarm signal cable on North First Street, and declaring an emergency. WHEREAS, North First Street from B Street to I Street is about to be widened and resurfaced by the State Highway Department, and the same renders necessary and ad- visable laying a new underground conduit hereinafter mentioned; NOW,THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That an emergency exists requiring the expenditure of an addi- tional $1,750.00 to defray the cost of purchase of materials, including approximately 2,800 feet of one and one -half inch pipe, for laying a new underground conduit on North First Street from B Street to I Street for carrying fire alarm signal cable and traffic signal cable; it appearing that funds therefor were not appropriated by or included in the 1954 budget and that it was impossible at the time of making said budget to have reasonably forseen the need for such additional moneys for such purpose. Section 2. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized, empowered and directed to issue emergency warrants upon the current expense fund for the cost of purchasing the materials for said conduit in a sum not to exceed $1,750.00, upon the presentation of proper vouchers therefor. Section 3. This ordinance is one providing for the expenditure of funds not budgeted, and an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by law • and the City Charter.
