ORDINANCE NO. B -154$
AN ORDINANCE amending Section 3 of Ordinance No. A -360 entitled: "AN ORDINANCE regulat-
ing hotels, rooming and lodging houses; providing for licenses therefor,
fixing penalties for violation thereof, and declaring an emergency ", and
declaring an emergency.
Section 1. That Section 3 of Ordinance No. A -360, entitled as set forth in the
caption hereof, passed and approved by the City commission on the 8th day of November,
1918, is hereby amended to read as follows::
lir "Section 2. Before any license shall be issued the applicant shall
furnish satisfactory evidence to the Mayor of said City that he or she
or any other person who shall conduct, manage or operate such hotel,
rooming house or lodging house is a person of good moral character, who
shall examine into and investigate the character and qualifications of
such applicant or other person, and report to the City Commission with
his recommendations as to whether or not such license should be granted.
Also, no such license shall be issued unless approved by the City Health
Department. "'
Section 2. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate preservation of
the public peace, property, health and safety and an emergency is declared to exist,
and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage, appro-
val, and publication, as provided by law and the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, signed and approved this 15th day of March, 1954.
