REPEALED eV ORDINANCE s AN ORDINANCE amending subdivision (a) and (b) of Section 71 of Ordinance No. B -131 entitled: "AN ORDINANCE relating to and regulating traffic, travel and transportation and their incidents upon the streets and other ways open to the public; prescribing the powers and duties of officers and others in relation thereto; defining offenses, providing penalties and repealing certain ordinances concered*. with or relating to the subject matter of this ordinance, and declaring an emergency;" as amended by Ordinances No. B -$70, B -956, B -106$, B -11$6, B -1233, B -1339, B -1351, B -1440 and B -1473; and declaring an emergency. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF,YAKIMA: Section 1. That Section 71 (a) of Ordinance No. B -131, passed and approved by the City Commission on February 26, 1936, and entitled as set forth in the caption hereof; and the amendments thereto by Ordinance No. B -$70, passed and approved by the City Commission on May $, 1948, and by Ordinance No. B -956, passed and approved by the City Commission on December 6, 194$, and by Ordinance No. B -106$, passed and approved by the City Commission on November 14, 1949; and by Ordinance No. B -11$6, passed and approved by the City Commission on October 16, 1950; and by Ordinance No. B -1233, passed and approved by the City„Commission on March 26, 1951; and by Ordinance No. B -1339, passed and approved by the City Commission on December 31, 1951; and by Ordinance No. B -1351, passed and approved by the City Commission on February 25, 1952; and by O rdinance No. B-1440, passed and approved by the City Commission on March 30, 1953, and by Ordinance No. B -1473, passed and approved by the City Commission on July 6, 1953; be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "71 (a) One hour parking or angle parking: The operator of a vehicle shall not stop, park or angle park such vehicle for a longer continuous time than one hour between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. of any day except ' Sundays and holidays, upon the following described portions of the following named streets and avenues in the City of Yakima: Front Street: The west side from Yakima Aveune to Chesnut (South) Street. Both sides from Chestnut Street to Walnut Street. (North) Both sides from A Street to B Street. East B Street: Both sides East B Street from Front to First Street. North 1st. St.:Both sides North First Street from B to C Streets. West Walnut St:The South side of West Walnut Street, from South Third Avenue to South Fourth Avenue. East Walnut St:The North side of East Walnut Street, from the alley between South Third Street and South Fourth Street, East to South Fourth Street. West Yakima Ave.: Both sides of West Yakima Avenue, from 6th Avenue west to 7th Avenue. S. Fourth Ave.:The West side of South Fourth Avenue from Yakima Avenue South to Chestnut Street. W. Chestnut St:Both sides of West Chestnut Street from South Fourth Avenue West of the alley midway between South Fourth Avenue and South Fifth Avenue. "During said hours the operator of a vehicle shall not'park the same, except parallel parking for not exceeding one hour upon the following described portions of the following named streets and avenues in said City: Spruce Street: The south side of Spruce Street between South 1st Streeet and South 2nd Street. E. Walnut St.: Both sides of Walnut Street from South 1st Street to Front Street. W. Walnut St.: Both sides of Walnut Street from Fourth Avenue to Sixth Avenue. Each hour during which a vehicle is permitted by the driver thereof to park or angle park in violation hereof, shall be deemed a separate offense. Any person sho shall violate this provision of this ordinance shall be fined not more than $1.00 for each such offense." Section 2. That Section 71 (b). of Ordinance No. B -131, passed and approved by the City Commission on February 26, 1936 and entitled as set forth in the caption hereof, as amended by Ordinance No. B -$70, passed and approved on May $, 194$, is hereby amended to read as follows: "(b) The operator of a vehicle shall not stop, park or angle park such vehicle on that part of the following named streets and avenues as herein- after indicated: East "C" Street :From North Front Street to North First Street. South Side of Summitview Avenue: From Sixteenth Avenue to Seventeenth Ave. South Side of West Yakima Ave.: From Twelfth Ave. to Sixteenth Avenue. West Chestnut Street : From Sixteenth Avenue to Twentieth Avenue. (Continued on page 542) x 542 . • . West Yakima Avenue: From Sixteenth Avenue to Twnty- second Avenue. • First Street from Station 94/90 to Station 102/$0 and Station 10$/60 to the south corporate limits. Third Street, for a distance of 100 feet north of the north property line of Washington Street. • Washington Street, for a distance of approximately 100 feet east of the east property line of Third Street and for a distance of approximately 100 feet':west of the west propertly line of First Street. Both sides of South Third Street from the intersection of South Second'Street to Washington Street. • Walnut Street: North side of Walnut Street from Seventh Avenue to Eighth Avenue." Section 3. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health and safety, and an emergency is declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage, approval, and publication, as provided by law and the City Charter.
