HomeMy WebLinkAbout1953-B-1481 4-2_2; 4 ,/ ORDINANCE NO. B -1481 AN ORDINANCE relating to Police Judge Pro Tempore, providing for the method of his appointment, and fixing his compensation. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. Pursuant to Section 35.22.520 RCW, as amended by Chapter - 60, Laws of 1953, in case of the temporary absence or inability of the police judge to act, the mayor shall appoint, from among the practicing attorneys qualified electors of the city, a police judge pro tempore, who, before entering upon the duties as such, shall take and subscribe an oath as other judicial officers and while so acting he shall have all the powers of the police judge: Provided, That such appointment shall not continue for a longer period than the absence or disability of the police judge. Such police judge pro tempore shall receive as compensation the sum of $10.00, for each day or portion thereof during which he holds court as such, to be paid by the city. Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and the City Charter.
