Bd1478 AN ORDINANCE amending Section 104 of Ordinance No. B -131 entitled: "AN ORDINANCE relating to and regulating traffic, travel and transportation and their incidents upon the streets and other ways open to the public; prescribing the powers and duties of officers and others in relation thereto; defining offenses, providing penalties and repealing certain ordinances concerned with or relating to the subject matter of this ordinance, . and declaring an emergency;. " and removing certain taxi stand restrictions. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: . Section 1. That Section 104 of Ordinance No. B -131, passed and approved by the City Commission on February 26, 1936 and entitled as set forth in the caption hereof, as amended by Ordinance No. B -160, passed and approved by the City Commission on October 6, 1936, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "Sec.. 104. Establishment of New Stands - Consent of Property Owner- Compensation Therefor Unlawful - Stands Prohibited in Certain Locations and Limited in Others. "The City Commission may by ordinance or resolution establish, set aside, or abolish certain new taxi stands in the City of Yakima„ No taxi stand shall ever be established without the written consent of the owner or lessee of the abutting property, and any such stand may be abolished upon the written request of the owner or lessee of such abutting property. it shall be unlawful to ask, solicit, offer, give or receive, either directly or indirectly, anything of value as consideration for the consent to use any protion of the streets or alleys or other places open to the use of the public for vehic- ular traffic for vehicles for hire. "No taxi stand shall ever be established on Yakima Avenue within the Central District." Section 2. Resolution No. C -1067, adopted by the City Commission on July 6, 1953, is hereby approved and confirmed, subject to the rights of the City Commission to cancel and revoke the permit therein granted, as therein provided. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days after its passage, approval and publication as provided by Law and the City Charter.
