ORDINANCE NO B -1472
AN ORDINANCE amending the first paragraph of Section 2 and all of Section 64 of Ordinance
No. B -99, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE relating to and regulating plumbing,
drainage and fitting in the City of Yakima, providing for the enforce-
, ment thereof, providing penalties for violation, and repealing Ordinances
No. .k -810, A -699, A-642, A-641, A-387, A-367, A -124, and all other ordinance
and parts of ordinances in conflict therewith:" and declaring an emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:

Section 1. That the first paragraph of'Section 2 of Ordinance No. B -99
passed and approved by the City Commission on May 27, 1935 and entitled as set forth in
the caption hereof, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section._ It shall ' be unlawful for any person to begin or perform any work
in the construction, reconstruction, alteration or repair of any plumbing
or house drainage system or systems of pipes for the conveyance of fuel or
illuminating gas in any public building, or to construct, alter or repair any cesspool,
septic tank, sewer_or drain for the conveyance or disposal of sewage or foul liquids on
any premises in the of Yakima, without comploying with all the provisions of. this
ordinance and the law in relation thereto and obtaining and having a permit to do such
work and until the completion thereof, posted in some conspicuous place on the building
or premises wherein the work is being done, and paying inspection fees as herein provided
for: A fee of One Dollar 01.00) shall be paid for the plumbing permit and Seventy -five
cents (75¢) for each fixture. A fixture shall be held to mean any connection that
requires a trap and a vent, or a trap without a vent, if special permit is granted for
installations of that type, and shall also include .a hot water tank. Sewer connection
permit,.Three Dollars ( $3.00). Cesspool permit, One Dollar and Fifty Cents($1.50),
Septic tank permit, Three Dollars ($3.00). Artificial or natural gas for fuel or
illumination permit, One Dollar ( $1.00) and for each gas opening if more than one,
Fifteen Cents (15¢). Boiler, high pressure or low pressure, stem, hot water, or hot air
furnaces, permit, One Dollar and Fifty Cents ($1.50). Such permits shall be non-transfer-
able."

Section 2. That Section 64 of Ordinance No. B -99 passed and approved by the
City Commission on May 27, 193 5 and entitled as set forth in the caption hereof, be
and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 64. The fee for such Master Plumber's License shall be One
Hundred ($100.00) Dollars, and Thirty -five ($35.00) Dollars for renewal, per annum for
each establishment or place of business of each such - master plumber, to be taken out in
the case of indinidu?1 , or in the name of the person owning the business and in the
case of firms or corporations, in the name of such firm or corporation, and expires
December 31st of each year.
"Article 1. The fee for such Journeyman Plumber's.License shall be Five
($5.00) Dollars per annum and shall expire December 31st of each year. Licenses shall
be issued by the City Clerk only upon payment of such fees, and, in the case of master
plumbers, only upon• the presentation of the certificate of registration hereinafter
provided for; and in the case of journeyman plumbers, only upon presentation of a valid
and subsisting Journeyman Plumber's Certificate of Competency, duly issued by the
Examining Board for Plumbers hereinabove provided for.

"Article 2. The fee for Side Sewer Contractor's License shall be Fifteen
Dollars per annum and shall expire December 31st of each year. They surety bond for
Side Sewer Contractors shall be the same as is required of Master P
• Section 3. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate preservation
of the public peace, property, health and safety, and an emergency is declared to exist,
and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage,
approval and publication, as provided by law and the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, signed and approved this 6th day of July,
1953.

ordinances in conflict therewith :" and declaring an emergency. ". as passed 6th day
of July, 1953, and that same has been published as required by law.
