HomeMy WebLinkAbout1953-B-1440 x 460 �2EPEALCD 8i ORDINANCE NO ORDINANCE NC), B -1440 AN ORDINANCE amending Section 71 (a) of Ordinance No. B -131, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE relating to and regulating traffic, travel and transportation and their incidents upon the streets and other wags open to the public; prescribing the powers and duties of officers and others in relation thereto; defining offenses, providing penalties and repealing certain ordinances concerned with or relating to the subject matter of this ordinance, aid declaring an emergency; as amended by Ordinance No. B -956, B -1068, B -1186, B- 1233, B -1339, and B -1351; and declaring an emergency. . BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That Section 71. (a) of Ordinance No. B -131 passed and approved by the City Commission on February 26, 1936, and entitled as set forth in the caption hereof; and the amendments thereto by Ordinance No. B -956, passed and approved by the City Commission on December 6, 1948, and by Ordinance No. B -1068, passed and approved by the City Commission on November 14, 1949 ;. and by Ordinance No. B -1186, passed and approv- ed by the City Commission. on October 16, 1950; and by Ordinance No. B -1233, passed and approved by the City Commission on March 26, 1951; and by Ordinance No. B- 1339 passed and )proved by the City Commission on December 31, 1951; and by Ordinance. Nc. B- 1351, passed and approved by the City Commission on February 25, 1952; be and the same is here by amended to read as follows: w71 (a) One hour parking or angle harking: The operator of a vehicle shall not stop, park or angle park such vehicle for a long.cr continuous time than one hour between the hours of 9 :00 A.M. and 6 :00 P.M. of any day except Sundays and holidays, upon the following described portions of the following named streets and avenues in the City of Yakima: . Front Street: The west side from Yakima Avenue to Chestnut (South) Street. Both sides from Chestnut Street to Walnut Street. (North) Both sides from A Street to B Street. East B Street: • Both sides East B Street from"Front to First Street. North 1st. St. :Both sides North First Street from B to C Streets. W. Walnut St. :The South side of West Walnut Street, from South Third Avenue to South Fourth Avenue. E. Walnut St. :The North side of East Walnut Street, from the alley between. South Third Street and South Fourth Street, East to South Fourth Street W. Yakima Ave. :Both sides of West Yakima Avenue, from 6th Avenue west to 7th Avenue. S. Fourth. Ave . :The West side of South Fourth Avenue from Yakima Avenue South to Chestnut Street. W. Chestnut St.:Both sides of West Chestnut Street from South Fourth Avenue West to the alley midway between South Fourth Avenue and South Fifth Avenue. Each hour during which a vehicle is permitted by the driver there- of to park or angle park in violation hereof, shall be deemed a` separate offense.. Any person who shall violate this provision of this ordinance shall be fined not more than 11.00 for each such offense." Section 24 eThis. ordinance is one to provide for the immediate preservation of nubile peace, health, welfare and safety of the people of the City of Yakima; aid an emergency is hereby declared to exist; and said Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and the City Charter.
