ORDINANCE 8. -1426
AN ORDINANCE submitting to the qualified electors of the City of Yakima, Washington, at
the general election °to be held in said City on March 10, 1953, the pro -
position of amending Section 5 of Article II of the City Charter of the City
of Yakima, to provide that the salary of the Mayor shall be $7,200.00, per
year, and that of each of the Commissioners shall be $6,.600.00 per year,
payable monthly.
WHEREAS, a petition has been filed with the City of Yakima, requesting the
submission at the general election, to be held in said City on the second Tuesday in
March, 1953, of a proposition of amending Section 5 of Article II of the City Charter of
the City of Yakima, in accordance with the proposal in said petition, and,
WHEREAS, said petition has been signed by more than five hundred qualified
voters of said City, as provided by the Yakima City Charter, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY TEE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That there be submitted to the qualified electors of the City
of Yakima, WaSington, at the general election to be held in said City on Tuesday, March
10, 1953, . the following proposition to be expressed on the ballot, as follows:
"PROPOSITION"
"That Section 5 of Article II of the City Charter of the City
of Yakima be amended to read as follows:
'Section 5: The salary of the Mayor shall be $7;200.00
per year, and that of each of the Commissioners shall be
$6,600.00 per year, payable monthly.'"'

Ordinance No. B -1426 entitled "AN ORDINANCE submitting to the qualified electors of the

passed this 7th day of February, 1953, and that same has been published as required by
law.
