HomeMy WebLinkAbout1952-B-1376 -38_t • ORDINANCE.NO..B -1376 AN ORDINANCE changing the names of certain streets. in the City of Yakima as follows: The name " Moxee Avenue from East Yakima Avenue to the easterly city limits, to "Terrace Heights' Way;" The name "North Avenue" from the Northern Pacific Railway Company tracks to the easterly limits of said North Avenue, , to "East I' Street;" The name "North Avenue" and "Hathaway Avenue" from. the Northern Pacific Railway Company tracks to the westerly city limits,. to • "West I Street;:" The name "Vandiver Drive" from 34th Avenue North to Hillcrest Avenue,. to "Barge Street ;" The name "West A. Street " from Pierce: Avenue to Custer Avenue, to "Summitview Avenue ;" The name "Stone Street" from Pleasant Avenue to South 17th Avenue, to "West Prasch Avenue;" The . name "Hazel Avenue" from West Lenox Avenue to Prasch Avenue, to "Ledwich Avenue;" The name "Broadway Avenue " 'from West Maple Street to the southerly city limits, to *33rd Avenue South;:". The name "Ohio Avenue" to "44th Avenue North;;" and designating that certain street one block south of Viola Avenue from 12th Avenue South to 15th Avenue South, as "Royer Avenue. " WHEREAS,, confusion has arisen over the names of various streets in the City of Yakima, described in the caption hereof, and it is for the, best interests of the City of Yakima to clarify the street. designations by renaming portions of said streets., • NOW,. THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That that certain street commencing at East Yakima Avenue and running to the easterly city limits, now known as "Moxee Avenue," be,, and the same is hereby officially designated and renamed "Terrace Heights. Way.." Section 2. That that certain street commencing at the Northern Pacific • Railway Company tracks and running easterly to its end, now known as "North Avenue.," be, and the same ishereby officially designated and renamed "East I Street." Section 3. That that certain street, commencing at the Northern Pacific railway Company tracks and running in a westerly direction to the westerly city limits, • now known as "North Avenue" and "Hathaway Avenue:,'" be, and the same is hereby offically designated and renamed "West I Street.'" Section 4. That that certain street commencing at 34th Avenue North and running in a westerly direction to Hillcrest Avenue, now known as "'Vandiver Drive," be, and the same is hereby officially .designated and renamed "Barge Street..." • Section 5.• That that certain street commencing at Pierce Avenue and running in a westerly direction to Custer Avenue, now known as "West A Street," be, and the same is hereby officially designated and renamed "Summitview Avenue."` . Section 7. That that certain street commencing at West Lenox Avenue and running in a southerly direction to Prasch A.venue, now known as "Hazel. Avenue,," be, and. the same is hereby officially designated and renamed "Ledwich Avenue." . • Section 80 That that certain street, commencing at West Maple Street and running in a southerly direction to the south city limits, now known as "Broadway Avenue," be,, and the same is hereby officially designated and renamed "3rd Avenue South." Section 9. That that certain street commencing at Summitview Avenue and. running in a northerly direction to the North City .limits., now known as "Ohio Avenue," be, and the same is hereby officially designated and renamed. That that certain street commencing at 12th Avenue South and running in a westerly direction one block south of Viola Avenue; to 15th Avenue South, be, and the same is hereby officially designated and named "Royer Avenue.
