AN,ORDINANCE amending Section 71 (d) of Ordinance No. B -131, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE
relating to.and regulating traffic, travel and transportation their
1 incidents upon the streets and other ways open to the public; prescribing
the powers and duties of officers and others in relation thereto; defining
'offenses, providing penalties and repealing certain ordinances concerned
with or relating to the subject matter of this ordinance, and declaring
'an emergency;" as amended, by Ordinance No. B- 956,,B -1068, B -1186, B1233,
and B -1339; and declaring an emergency..
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section,l. That Section 71 (a) of Ordinance No. B -131, passed and approved
by the City Commission on February 26, 1936, and entitled as set forth in caption hereof;
and the amendments thereto by Ordinance No. B -956 passed and approved by the City .
Commission on December 6, 1948, and by Ordinance No. B -1068, passed and approved.by the
City Commission on November 14, 1949; and by Ordinance No. B -1186, ,passed And approved
by the City Commission . on October 16, 1950; and by Ordinance No. B -1233, passed and
approved by the City Commission on March 26, 1951; and by Ordinance No. B -1339, passed ,
and approved by the City 'Commission on December 31, 1951; be and the is hereby •
amended to read as follows:
' (a) One hour parking or angle parking: The operator of a vehicle
shall not stop, .park or angle park such vehicle for a longer
continuous time than one hour between the hours of 9:00 A.M.
- and 6 :00 P.M. of any day except Sundays and holidays, .upon the
following described portions of the following named streets and
avenues in the City of Yakima:
Front Street: The west side from Yakima 'Avenue
(South) - to Chestnut Street.
Both sides from Chestnut Street .
to Walnut Street.
. (North) Both sides from A Street to B Street.
East B Street: Both sides East - B Street from Front
to First Street.
North 1st. St.: Both sides North First Street from
B to ,C Streets.
W. Walnut St.: The South side of West Walnut
Street, from South Third Avenue
to South Fourth Avenue. _ .
E. Walnut St.: The North side of East Walnut Street,
. • from the alley between South Third Street
and South Fourth Street, East to South
Fourth Street.
W. YakimaAve.: Both sides of West Yakima Ave., from
6th Avenue west to 7th Avenue.
Each hour during which a vehicle is permitted by the driver
thereof to park or angle park in violation hereof, shall be
deemed a separate offense. Any person who shall violate
this provision of this ordinance shall be fined not more
than $1.00 for each such offense."
Section 20 This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate preservation
of public peace, health, welfare .and safety of the people of the City of Yakima; and
an emergency is hereby declared to exist; and said Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and the
City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, signed and approved, this 25th day of
February, 19 52 .

as passed this 25th day of February, 1952, and that same has been published as required
by law.
